Dragon Ball Z Species Questionaire

Ever wonder what species or character type you might be if you were a character in the Dragon Ball universe? I have put together a list of questions to help you find out. Or at least to get a vague idea. This questionaire is unofficial, experimental, and subject to change as I come up with better ideas.

There are 25 questions in total, each with 9 possible answers, and each answer has a number next to it. Go with whichever answer (or answers) suit you best (since there might not always be an answer that fits you perfectly, or there may be quite a few), write down the numbers somewhere, tally up which number(s) show up most with your answers, then check the results at the bottom of the post to find out what you are. Don’t worry about getting mixed results, the Dragon Ball universe is known to have mixed up characters. You may be the result of a Fusion.

Results

1)      Saiyan: You have a strong fighting spirit and are always searching for greater challenges to overcome. You are constantly pushing the boundaries of what even you think you are capable of. You tend to make a lot of enemies, but your enemies often come to respect and admire your strength in the end and will sometimes become allies.

2)      Briefs: A special breed of Human. You are a deadly combination of good looks and good brains. People often underestimate your skills, especially with technology, hence you tend to rant about yourself whenever you succeed at something. You have a romantic heart but tend to be over-dramatic. You give your heart away too easily.

3)      Namekian: You tend to feel like a foreigner in a strange land. You’re not even sure if you know what ‘home’ really is. Yet you also feel a need to cultivate the earth and keep it safe. Other people may find you cold, and when faced with impossible odds you will make whatever sacrifices are necessary for the sake of the greater good. You make few but lasting friendships, and can be a great mentor when the need arises.

4)      Arcosian: You lead people by overpowering them. You have a strong sense of nobility and feel that your power and high position in life are your birthright. You have many layers, and like to only reveal a little bit of yourself at a time. You have known little fear in your life because rarely if ever have you met anyone who matched your power. You dislike Saiyans because you fear what they may be capable of.

5)      Android: You look like you should fit in, but you don’t. You are task-oriented and often cannot think of anything else before your task is finished, but you are not necessarily in a hurry to get things done. You were practically born awesome and, feeling no need to improve, you focus your self-development in other areas, like accessorizing. You can be a bit vain. You live without fear of most types, except for the Cells. You were created for the sole purpose of killing Goku, but may decide not to bother.

6)      Cell: A special type of Android. You are a driven perfectionist. You believe in destiny and have a strong sense of purpose, but might undervalue others as having no purpose of their own apart from how they can help you realize your goals. You feel as though everything centers around you. You are blessed with many natural talents but must still work to develop and perfect them.

7)      Champion of Earth: A type of human. You think very highly of yourself, and so do most of the people you hang around. Whenever you see something that might possibly be more awesome than you it is shrugged off as a trick. You hold tight to the glory you have now, because it’s all you know, but when it comes time to really step up you may be surprised at what you are actually capable of. Most other types will dislike you, except for the Buus.

8)      Kai: A benevolent being responsible for maintaining balance and order in your own section of the cosmos (however big that may be). You are wise at heart, easily trusted, and given much responsibility. Sometimes the work can be overwhelming, but you generally manage, even if your methods and personality seem eccentric. You have much to teach others, and command much respect from those around you. Life changes happen rarely, but when they do they are drastic and tend to be long-term.

9)      Buu: You are young at heart. You are often misunderstood because you’re still learning about the world around you and hold a sense of wonder for it. You are a quick learner, and usually only need to see something done once before you pick it up. Your naivety can get you into trouble if you listen to the wrong people. You have a love of all things cute and sweet.

Imagine

Imagine there’s no bacon.

It makes me want to cry.

How could there be no bacon?

I think I’m gonna die.

Imagine all the people

Starving cuz there’s no bacon.

YooHOOooo (You)

May say I’m over-dramatic,

But you just wait and see.

In a world without bacon

We’d all turn to anarchy.

Imagine there’s no bacon.

I don’t know if you can.

We’d only have The Porkinator

And Actor Kevin Ham.

And there’s no B. in your L.T.

“Peameal” just means “a meal of peas.”

YooHOOooo (You)

May find it’s not all that bad.

But you’re the only one.

Good luck making a decent sandwich

With no pig in your bun.

Imagine there’s no bacon.

Every time I do

I black out and hit the floor.

And suck my thumb too.

And wake up six days later

In the fetal position.

YooHOOooo (You)

May say, “It’s far too depressing.”

And you’d be very right.

I try not to think about it

But I still can’t sleep at night.

Dead Silence – (a film review)

Now’s the time when most people go looking for interesting scary movies to watch, and Christians who want to get in on the festivities often have a hard time participating without feeling like they have to compromise. The reason I’ve done a review of this movie in particular is that it’s quite a rare find – a horror movie that just focuses on the scares and doesn’t throw in a lot of the junk that typically turns Christian audiences away. There’s no sex, nudity or profanity in this movie. Foul language is extremely mild, and is absent for most of the film. It doesn’t even get involved in occultic references like many horror movies do. It is still a horror movie, so it is… um… horrific. Which in this case is all you need. It’s a horror movie that I actually feel that I can recommend to Christian friends without it weighing on my conscience (I mean, assuming they want to watch a horror movie).

The main fear that will be played with, if you choose to watch it, is the fear of dolls – which I have – which is why I was particularly interested in watching this. The secondary fear is more obvious but less prominent, which is the fear of silence. These two fears are often played on simultaenously, so if you have both fears then you’re in for a real treat. But at one point the movie touched on a third fear which came as a surprise, and which I can’t warn you about without a (SPOILER ALERT). If you have a fear of clowns then this movie might make you crap your pants.

(END Of SPOILERS)

Overall, this film had the strong feel of a classic ghost story throughout. It felt like a really good story you’d tell around a campfire, but told in the form of a two-hour movie. Parts of it that may be upsetting or offensive (or even nonsensical) to some viewers make more sense if seen through that lense.

Unfortunately, for a film about ventriloquist dummies, people expecting it to have a sense of humour will be disappointed, although the detective provides some down-to-earthness. As per the genre, you can expect death, blood and gore to be a part of the story. It’s missing an overall cheery tone.

As I said, the movie doesn’t get involved in occultic references. There is an interesting opening line about old world beliefs regarding the dead, which skilfully sets the tone for the whole story.

So, yeah, Dead Silence is a rare occurence, being a movie I feel I can actually recommend to fellow Christians …Christians who want to get scared half to death.

And now to quote my favourite line from the film…

“Beware the stare of Mary Shaw. She had no children, only dolls. Um… Something, something, scary… Something, something, BOO!”

Alphabet Shoot Out

After giving it some deep thought, I have compiled a list of all the letters of the English alphabet (upper and lower case) and listed them in order of how easy their shapes would be to use as guns. This is accounting for things like: how easy they would be to grip, the direction of recoil, whether or not there’s something obstructing your vision if you use the ironsight, and so on.

Practical application?

. . .

You find yourself in a gang fight in a movie with subtitles and you have to improvise.

The Alphabet as guns

So if, for example, the word “Jellyfish” appears at the bottom of the screen, you’re gonna want to grab the “f” and the “J”. But if a guy jumps at you and says, “Boo” then you’re tough out of luck. Your best bet is to repeatedly say, “Grrrrrr.”

In case you’re wondering why I scored “j” and “i” as low as I did, it’s because they’ve got those dots hovering right where the bullet comes out. If you’re lucky you may get a spray effect, but chances are you’ll hurt yourself.

Cynical Optimist

I’ve recently identified myself as a Cynical Optimist, in that even though I look at the world around me and I see a lot of crap, and I tend to criticize everything, I have this inexplicable sense that it’s all going to be okay in the end.

If you’ve seen the South Park episode “Ass Burgers”, and seen the world through Stan’s eyes, it’s a pretty accurate depiction of how I see the world, especially the world of advertising. And the way Stan sees things once he is enabled to “go back into the world as everyone else sees it” is a pretty accurate depiction of how I think everyone else sees the world. I might not agree with everything South Park said about Asperger’s Syndrome, but they have a pretty good handle on how it feels.

And yet, I’m also an optemist. I’m able to wade through this sea of…stuff…that is the stuff that the whole rest of the world thinks is awesome, and press on because I feel as though the truly awesome is on the way. Amidst the crap that the world tries to parade as sunshine and rainbows, I find rare things that actually are good, that actually do bring me true joy, and I hold on to them and they give me hope for the future.

Despite my cynical view of society, I really do believe that the world could be a better place if we tried, and that the world will be a better place some time in the future. I just get impatient with mankind for not making the world a better place right now.

Pilgrimage

Some pictures I put together in a Paint program for myself and a couple of friends after watching Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.

Shanks Pilgrim

This picture was inspired by one of his real-life nicnames.

Benjamin T. Collier. Pilgrim

Then I did this one for myself.

Kirstie Shanks. Pilgrim

Then at the request of Shanks I did this one for Kirstie. The power and upgrades were his idea. I deny all responsibility.

Synchronicity

I’m enjoying the new car radio and how it tells me the name of the song and who sings it, instead of having to play the guessing game like I always had to before. The information feed takes some getting used to though. At first I thought that when a song title was too big the screen would show one chunk of it, then the rest – or one chunk after another if the title was more than two chunks long. I didn’t realize that it actually scrolls through the title, slowly removing the first letter to bring in the next until it’s gone through the whole thing.

For a moment I actually thought there was a song called “SYNCHRONYNCHRONINCHRONICCHRONICIHRONICITRONICITY by THE POLICE”.
